A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR MARLBOROUGH COMMUNITY ❤️
Dear all,
We wonder if we could ask for a little help.
It has recently come to our attention that the previous proprietor's Booking.com listing for The Marlborough is still live and continuing to accept room reservations.
Sadly, this means we have now had a number of guests arrive at our door, having booked and paid for accommodation in good faith, only for us to have absolutely no record of their reservation.
On several occasions we have already been fully booked, leaving our team in the horrible position of having to turn guests away or desperately call around other local accommodation trying to find them somewhere to stay.
As you can imagine, it is incredibly upsetting for the guests involved and really stressful for our team, who are doing everything they can to help when this happens.
We have done everything in our power to resolve directly with Booking.com but as this listing belongs to the old proprietor, they are unable to deactivate without his agreement. We have also tried to make contact with him directly via our landlord, but unfortunately we haven't been successful.
So we're hoping the wonderful Marlborough grapevine might be able to help!
If anyone is in contact with the previous proprietor, or is able to get a message to him, we would be incredibly grateful if you could ask him to please remove his old Booking.com listing as a matter of urgency and ensure that anyone who has booked and paid through it is contacted and appropriately refunded.
In the meantime, if you are booking a room at The Marlborough Inn, please book directly with us through our official website or our current Booking.com listing. If you've already booked and have any doubt whatsoever, please give us a call and we'll happily confirm your reservation.
Please do share this post so we can hopefully prevent any more visitors to Marlborough finding themselves without somewhere to stay.
Thank you, as always, for your support.
