🎉 Celebrating One Year of Helen & Andy at The Bricklayers 🎉

We're delighted to be celebrating nearly one year of Helen and Andy at The Bricklayers and even more pleased to share that they have officially signed a new 5-year tenancy agreement with us.

Joining us through our Darwin Agreement, Helen and Andy took on their first tenanted pub with plenty of passion, energy and enthusiasm. As regulars of The Bricklayers, they jumped at the opportunity when it became available. A year on, that same enthusiasm remains at the heart of everything they do. They have continued to grow the business, create a fantastic atmosphere and strengthen The Bricklayers place at the heart of the local community.

Helen and Andy have thoroughly enjoyed their first year and would like to thank the local community for the warm welcome and support they have received so far.

If you walked into the brewery on brew day, one of the first things you’d notice is the smell.

Warm, slightly sweet, almost like fresh bread. That comes from the malt.

Our barley is malted by Simpsons Malt, where it’s soaked, allowed to sprout just slightly, and then kiln-dried. It’s this process that makes the grain usable in brewing, releasing the sugars that will later become alcohol.

It’s one of the quieter parts of the process, but it shapes the whole beer.

We're delighted to announce that George and Tori will be taking the helm at The The Red Lion, Jewellery Quarter as we prepare to reopen this summer.

Many of you will already know George and Tori from their fantastic work at and Shrewsbury, where they've built a reputation for creating welcoming pubs full of character, great hospitality and community spirit.

Now, they're bringing that same passion to Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.

As the finishing touches are made to our £500,000 restoration, George and Tori are already hard at work helping shape the next chapter of this much-loved pub. From brewery-fresh beer and Château Bessan wines to great food, warm welcomes and plenty of reasons to return, they're excited to create a proper neighbourhood pub at the heart of the community.

The countdown is on.

The Red Lion reopens on 14th July 2026.

Wherever you walk into a Joule’s, there’s something that feels familiar.

A pint that tastes just how you hoped it would.

That begins with our water, drawn from a natural aquifer beneath us, the very same source that shaped our beers back in Stone. Filtered through layers of red sandstone, it gives the beer its character before we’ve even started brewing.

From there, it stays close to home, only ever poured in a Joule’s pub.
