We had a fantastic night last night and thank you to everyone and especially to THE SHORT SLEEVES band (what a song, thank you ! :-) ) and to the amazing staff (Louise, Shane, Emma, Mark and Anna). Also, a wonderful set of customers, as usual, and of all ages.
I'm truly sorry for those that could not get in and it is a source of frustration and disappointment. Of course it is not personal but I understand from reactions that it can feel that way. I appreciate your efforts to come say goodbye and the memories you have built up here so thank you to you all and I'm sure deep down you understand too.
Tonight may be similar so again thank you for your patience and understanding and sorry if you miss out.
Tonight please also respect that space will be reserved for our elderly Sunday regulars and should you be lucky enough to be in and sat in their seats later on please respect, (as always is, thank you) our request for the seats to be vacated for them. It'll be your turn one day :-)
Lenny Birch (our unofficial Landlord) is a bit poorly at the moment so we wish him well and hope he can make it out tonight. He has been a most lovable thorn in my side at times but I learnt so much from him too and wouldn't have him any other way. He is a great man !
Tonight is dedicated to the diversity of ages we have here but especially to our elder customers epitomized by Lenny, Billy, Smelly and all, their family,and friends.

We're moving through our last weekend very enjoyably.
Tonight is a bit of a party night with THE SHORT SLEEVES playing loads of well known tunes from 9pm that everyone can sing along too in what amounts to the last full night at The Coach and Horses under our tenure. Let's make it a fun and enjoyable one :-)

What a great night it was last night. A big thank you to the Culina girls who were on top form. They donated their £100 prize money to the Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer research which was doubled by Utility Warehouse. Final total was a record breaking quiz night figure of £540. The girls then won the pub piano in the raffle. Hilarious !! Great fun and thank you to all concerned

Tonight we have the incredibly talented '3 OUNCE of GROOVE' entertaining us on The last Thursday night music at The Coach and Horses before it returns to it's former home The Sandbrook Vaults from next week. Normally playing places like The Yardbird in Birmingham it's a pleasure to have this band on board for what will be a very special night.
It's a full weekend of music with the traditional foot tapping tunes of TERN VALLEY TINKERS and Saturday night our old favourites The (SHORT) SLEEVES will play songs everyone can sing along to and see us off with a bit of a party :-)

It's the final QUIZ NIGHT under our tenure at The Coach and Horses TOMORROW NIGHT 8.30pm
With the quizzes, Rock 'n' Bowl and other events we have managed to raise £35,000 since we arrived 5 & half years ago. That averages at about £122 every week. We have our critic(s) here but we are immensely proud of that achievement in a small community pub. Thank you to every one of you that have contributed.

I decided to be a little self indulgent tomorrow and do the quiz on behalf of BREAST CANCER RESEARCH as my sister has recently been treated for it and some years ago it took our Mum from us.
It has turned out to be quite fitting as yesterday it dawned on me that my mum passed away in 1991................On October 2nd !!
Utility Warehouse have pledged to double what we raise so it's looking like a good way to end things. Thank you and hope to see you here. Be early for a table ! :-)
Info on events for our final weekend will be posted in the next day or so but we have live music Thursday thru Saturday so come and join us, it should be fun :-)

Next week is our leaving weekend and it's 4 nights of great entertainment with Live music of varying but equally enjoyable artists ranging from 3 Ounce of Groove, Tern valley tinkers The Short Sleeves and more.
