British jazz legend Courtney Pine appears on tonight's episode of Later with Jools Holland ahead of his return to Band on the Wall this month.

Discussing his album Out of the Ghetto: A Modern-Day Jazz Story, he reflects on his dual legacy as both subject and curator of his own history, and performs a Duke Ellington standard with Jools Holland at the piano.

Bid farewell to The Bad Plus 💙

After a quarter of a century, Reid Anderson and Dave King feel like their statement as The Bad Plus has been made.

Earlier this year, the alt-jazz innovators announced that 2026 would be the last year of the group, marked with a very special, career-spanning farewell tour.

Colombia’s powerhouse percussion trio 🪇

Fusing traditional Caribbean sounds with champeta beats, hip-hop rhythms and punk energy – Bogotan group La Perla Bogotá bring their commanding live show to Manchester on 8 July.

Inspired by the musical heritage of Tinariwen, Tamikrest is driven by the desire to amplify the oppressed voice of the Tuareg people.

Deeply rooted in Tamasheq tradition and powered by raw energy, the group blends psychedelic rock with hypnotic trance and melody to create their own desert-blues sound.

The iconic Saharan rock group head to our stage on on 15 June.

Don't Stop Believin' – jazz edition! 🥁

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and former Journey drummer Steve Smith has led one of the world's top fusion-oriented groups, Vital Information, for over 40 years.

Rooted in bebop swing but unafraid to explore exotic South Indian Carnatic rhythms and adventurous, funk-driven takes on jazz standards, Steve leads the powerhouse jazz-fusion trio through reimagined classics and bold originals.
