A little bit of Boddingtons. A lot of Chop House character. 🧀🍺

Some things are just better when they’re made especially for you.

Our very own Chop House Cheddar is made for us and our sister site, Sam’s Chop House, by Cryer & Scott cheesemongers - with Boddingtons in the recipe for a little extra Manchester character.

Firm yet beautifully creamy, with notes of toasted nuts, caramelised butter and a gentle tang that lingers on the palate.

Fancy a taste? Enjoy it as part of our Create Your Own Great British Cheeseboard, celebrating some of the best British cheeses we can get our hands on, or take a piece of the Chop House home for just £7.

A little piece of our history, hanging right where it belongs. 💚

The details matter at Mr Thomas’s Chop House.

As part of our restoration, our outdoor signs have been carefully redesigned while remaining on their original hangings, bringing new life to a familiar part of our historic frontage.

The new artwork was drawn using an actual historical photograph of Thomas Studd as its inspiration - connecting the signs we see today with the man behind our story.

And the heritage runs deeper than the building itself. Our logos and typography have all been designed in-house by Billy Ward, Roger’s son, bringing a personal touch to the identity of the Chop House.

From the signs outside to the stories written on our walls, we’re proud to preserve the character of this Manchester original while carrying its traditions forward.

Established in 1867. Still telling our story. 💚
