Today we would like to share the details of the funeral for our dear friend and much loved regular, Dave Martin ❤️

Dave’s funeral will take place on Thursday 20th August at 10:00am. He will be leaving Barlow’s Funeral Directors at 9:35am and then the wake will be at the Lord Nelson, a place he called his second home for over 20 years.

We would love for anyone who knew Dave to join us in giving him the send off he truly deserves. Whether you knew him as Dave, 8 Pint Dave, or simply as a friendly face at the bar, we know how much he meant to so many people.

His infectious laugh, cheeky sense of humour, and loyal friendship will never be forgotten. The Lord Nelson won’t be the same without him, but his memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and friendships he leaves behind.

Raise a glass for Dave and help us give our beautiful friend the farewell he deserves. 🍻❤️

It’s with a massive hole in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Dave Martin 💔

8 Pint Dave as all of us at the Nelson called him, he has been a regular for over 20 years. He was always the first person at the door waiting to come in, and his laugh was truly infectious. His company was a pleasure to be around, and he had a way of brightening the room just by being in it.

Dave wasn’t just a customer to us he was part of the furniture, part of the family, and a huge part of what makes the nelson what it is. He made friendships that will last a lifetime and leaves behind countless memories, stories, laughs, and moments that we’ll all treasure forever.

To say he will be missed is a complete understatement. The Nelson simply won’t be the same without him. Our thoughts are with all of Dave’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Dave. Pull up a stool at the bar in the sky and have one for all of us. You’ll always have your seat here at the Nelson. ❤️🍺

Now that the World Cup has come to an end, we just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who made it so special here at The Lord Nelson.

To all of our incredible staff thank you for the hard work, the long hours, the late finishes, and for keeping the drinks flowing and the atmosphere electric from start to finish. You’ve been absolute superstars and we couldn’t have done it without you.

And to every single customer who chose to spend the tournament with us thank you for your support, your loyalty, and for bringing the unbelievable atmosphere that made every game one to remember. Whether you were here for one match or every single one, you helped make this an unforgettable summer.

We’ve celebrated together, cheered together, and created memories that will last a long time.
