What a great Lyn Valley Classic day so far.

Lovely people, a proper buzz through Lynton, and plenty of good food and drink leaving the kitchen.

We’re open this afternoon for lunch, coffee, cakes and something cold, and we’ll be open again this evening for dinner.

If you’re in town for the Classic, do come and see us.

It’s Lyn Valley Classic day in Lynton & Lynmouth.

The Vanilla Pod is open from 7.30am today, serving breakfast until 12.30pm.

Full breakfasts, proper coffee, something warm before the cars, and a good place to settle in before the town gets busy.

Lunch follows until 4pm, and we’ll be open again this evening for dinner.

Have a lovely day if you’re coming into Lynton for the Classic.

Lyn Valley Classic Sunday at The Vanilla Pod

We’ll be open from 7.30am this Sunday, 14th June, for Lyn Valley Classic day in Lynton & Lynmouth.

Breakfast will be served from 7.30am until 12.30pm, with our lunch menu following until 4pm.

And, of course, we’ll also be open in the evening for dinner.

So whether you’re coming early for the cars, stopping for coffee and breakfast, staying for lunch, or joining us later in the day, we’d be very pleased to see you.

Breakfast at The Vanilla Pod.

Start the day with a proper Full Devonshire Breakfast, something a little different from our Middle Eastern breakfast menu, or simply eggs ... cooked your way.

There’s plenty to choose from — from bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomato, mushroom and potatoes, to shakshuka-style eggs, warm pitta, smoky aubergine, tahini, harissa, and generous plates full of colour and flavour.

Or keep it simple with poached, fried or scrambled eggs, good toast, and a delicious coffee.

Served by Dasha and the team in the heart of Lynton.

Breakfast served until 12.30pm.
Open Thursday to Tuesday, 9.00am–4.00pm.
Kitchen closes at 3.00pm.
Closed Wednesdays.

Please know that The Vanilla Pod will be closed on selected evenings during 2026 while Dasha hosts Exmoor Seasonal Dining Experiences here at the Vanilla Pod in Lynton, alongside Ilona Pettigrew of The Spicy Mare.

These evenings are part of "The Silk Route Chronicles 2026", a series of intimate, seated dining events created by Ilona and Dasha.

The first of these June evenings is "A Passage Through East Asia", held here at The Vanilla Pod.

Fresh on the specials board at The Vanilla Pod.

This week we have grilled local octopus with chickpea masabacha, confit cherry tomato and parsley dressing.

There’s also baharat kidney skewers with whipped feta and green salad, and corn-fed chicken supreme with brown lentil caponata, charred tenderstem broccoli, merguez crumb and chimichurri.

And for something sweet, our summer special: sumac and mint strawberries with clotted cream.

Good food, good coffee, a glass of wine if the day calls for it, and a table in the heart of Lynton.

Breakfast at The Vanilla Pod is far from ordinary.

Our Turkish Eggs are made with local free-range poached eggs, creamy yoghurt, chilli butter, wilted greens, roasted tomatoes and warm pitta for scooping it all up.

Rich, warming, generous, and just a little bit different.

Served here in the heart of Lynton, alongside proper coffee and a calm start to the day.

Just one week to go until our June table, and the next journey in our Silk Route Chronicles adventure.

Next Sunday, I’ll be cooking alongside Ilona, for A Passage Through East Asia, our next Exmoor Seasonal Dining Experiences evening.

The menu is built around hand-pleated gyoza, ginger-steamed hake, gochujang Exmoor beef ribs, hand-cut noodles, foraged greens, house chilli crisp and a smoky tiramisu to finish.

We’ll also have delicious wines and carefully chosen spirits to carry the evening through.

It will be a small, seated, shared-table evening, with just a few places still available for Sunday 7th June.
