Led by our new Head Chef, we offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere, estate-grown wines, and a truly memorable dining experience. This freehouse country pub is situated in the centre of the Kent village of Luddesdown. With its large garden and open fires it is welcoming on those hot sunny days where you can unwind in the sun or warm yourself and relax during the winter. The area is perfect for walkers, cyclists and families. Whatever the reason for your visit you can always be sure of a friendly welcome.

Tucked away within the grounds, our kitchen garden is beginning to play an increasingly important role in the dishes we serve.

From herbs and seasonal produce to ingredients harvested at their peak, we are growing and using as much as we can from the garden, bringing a closer connection between the land and the plate.

Working alongside our trusted suppliers, the produce we grow helps complement the exceptional ingredients sourced from field, farm and sea, allowing us to make the very best of each season.

As the garden continues to evolve, we look forward to seeing its influence grow across our menus and sharing more of its journey with you.

A recent visit to some of our suppliers reminded us of the exceptional produce available on our doorstep.

From seasonal vegetables grown with care to fresh fish sourced from our coast, these ingredients help shape dishes across the site.

Quality ingredients remain at the heart of everything we do, whether enjoyed on a pizza at the Pop-Up Pub or as part of a menu at The Lion when it opens.

Thank you to all those who welcomed us and shared an insight into their work.

A glimpse of what we have been working on...

Whilst renovations at The Lion are underway, we have been hard at work behind-the-scenes, tasting, testing and perfecting our cocktail list and menus.

Great food deserves great drinks and we are making sure every detail is just right before we open our doors.

The countdown is officially on and our website will be launching very soon.

Follow along for more updates as we get ready to welcome you and do not forget that The Lion pop-up is open every day in the meantime.
