It was a great privilege today to have the President of the Handlebar Club, Rod, present a Plaque of Friendship to the landlord of Café Batavier, proud home of the Antwerp Snorrenclub.

As the respective homes of these historic moustache clubs in London and Antwerp, our friendship has grown stronger with every visit. Over the last three years, we have been welcomed at Café Batavier with exceptional hospitality, generosity and friendship, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

This plaque celebrates not only the bond between our clubs, but also the special relationship between our two pubs and the shared values of camaraderie, tradition and good cheer.

Thank you to everyone at Café Batavier and the Snorrenclub for your warm welcome over the years. We look forward to returning soon and, even more importantly, to welcoming you all to The Heron in the near future.

Earlier this week, we shared a little promo video showcasing Heron Red, and the response has been absolutely fantastic. The beer is being incredibly well received, which delights us because we’re exceptionally proud of this label.

A delightful red ale with a rich malty toffee backbone, balanced by bright fruit notes and a crisp herbal dry-hop finish, it’s a beer full of character and flavour.

Good job we got that extra TV up in the garden!

A fantastic crowd in, the atmosphere is building nicely, and Arsenal are 1–0 up so far. Plenty of football still to be played, but if they can hold on and get the win, the celebrations are going to be something special.

Cold drinks flowing, the beer garden buzzing, and Champions League Final football on the screens, exactly what a Saturday afternoon at The Heron is all about.
