Located in the heart of London's city centre, Coal Hole is a historic venue with a fascinating past.

Situated in the iconic Savoy Court on the Strand, this Grade II listed pub has been a beloved establishment since 1903. Designed by renowned architect T.E Collcutt, it is said to have been built on the site of the coal cellar for the prestigious Savoy Hotel. During the Victorian era, Coal Hole was a popular song and supper club, attracting coal heavers and entertaining guests with comical songs and sentimental ballads. Although the supper club is no longer in operation, the pub's close proximity to London's renowned theatres ensures the possibility of impromptu singsongs and musical performances. Throughout the years, the Coal Hole on the Strand has welcomed famous faces, including the likes of Gilbert and Sullivan, who frequently graced the stage during the Edwardian era. Notably, Shakespearean actor Edmund Keane even initiated the Wolf Club, a gathering for oppressed husbands forbidden to sing in the bath. With its rich history and prime location near the historical Savoy Hotel, the Coal Hole offers a unique dining and drinking experience. Guests can enjoy live music on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of this iconic establishment.
