MEET THE OWNERS 👋🏽
Hello! We’re Max & Kal, the proud owners of By Max.
We’ve called Acton home since 2010, and for as long as we can remember we’ve loved bringing people together.
It started back in 2017 when we launched Churchfield Road, Acton, W3 to celebrate the amazing independent businesses on our doorstep. That simple idea grew into projects like , bringing street art to our neighbourhood, and Re’Store | Reuse Movement a creative movement inspiring people to remake, repair, reuse and reconnect.
Along the way we hosted supper clubs, community events and pop-ups, and during lockdown our burgers-from-home service sold out weeks in advance. A kitchen takeover at The Rocket soon followed, and that’s where we realised we’d found our groove.
By Max became the natural next chapter.
To us, it’s never been just about coffee. It’s a place where people can meet, share ideas, join a run club, discover a new book, enjoy a w**e night, get creative through Re’Store workshops, or simply slow down over great food and good company.
Max brings years of hospitality experience, while Kal’s background in fashion, design and community projects shapes the creative heart of what we do. Together, we’re building the kind of place we’d always hoped our neighbourhood would have.
