People often ask us do we still need to Save The George Tavern, or is it saved?

The answer is: we HAVE survived many battles that could have closed us, thanks to years of campaigning, community support, legal fights and artists support. But the old nightclub attached to The George, previously known as Stepney’s, is still out of our hands. It was once part of the venue - with a light-up dancefloor and its own colourful history, and Pauline’s dream has always been to bring it back to reunite it with The George and create a whole extra space next door. Until that goal is achieved, Pauline will keep fighting as ever!

You can hear about Stepney's and lots of other stories from our history over on Pauline's recent Trax.fm interview :

THIS WEEK

MON : [FREE] TGT presents art rock / avant-jazz / garage / country punk from Kansas City Playboys, The Wheel 2! (^ above 📸 ), Domestic Partners and A Taste of Cherry

TUES : Emily Jeffri headlines with a MURDER MYSTERY twist...
Before the show, one of you will be plucked away from the rest and handed 15 red cards - if this is you, then you have been assigned the role of Murderer. The Murderer will have the duration of the concert to discreetly hand out all red cards, completely undetected by fellow concert-goers. Towards the end of Jeffri’s show, she will ask the crowd to attempt to identify you. If unable, the price of your concert ticket will be completely refunded and you will be invited up on stage to dance along with Emily to her closing song.
Fans are encouraged to dress up as thought extras in a cheesy horror flick: drenched in fake blood, funky wigs, a handful of glowsticks and wild makeup. Think A24’s Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. Let’s have some fun.
Think you’ve got what it takes to get away with murder? DM proof of ticket purchase to and you might receive a form…
