What a summer it’s been!🌞

We’ve had an incredibly busy summer, and while we’ve loved welcoming so many of you through our doors, unfortunately we’ve also experienced a small number of occasions where members of our team have been spoken to or treated rudely.

Our team work incredibly hard to make sure everyone has a great experience with us, and we’re so grateful to all of our lovely customers who continue to support us and treat our staff with the kindness and respect they deserve.

If you’ve enjoyed your time with us, we’d really appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes to leave us a Google review. Your feedback means a lot to our team and helps others discover us too!

Our normal service times for food⬇️

Wednesday - Saturday 12-3, 5:30-8:30pm🍴

Thursday at 8pm our weekly quiz is making a come back for the darker evenings, get your teams together and join us🧐

Saturday evening we have The Deri Heirs joining us from 8:30pm - make sure you book your table!

Our Tuesday food services are taking a pause for September, our first Tuesday food service will be back Tuesday 6th October🍔

This week at The Red Lion ⬇️

After a busy bank holiday weekend the kitchen will be closed today (Wednesday 2nd September)

We will be open for drinks from 4pm (Wednesday 2nd September)

Food service times will be back to normal from Thursday ⬇️

Thursday - Saturday 12-3pm, 5:30pm- 8:30pm
Sunday 12-3pm

We also have Noted joining us this Saturday at 8:30pm 🎶

It’s been a while 😅

This August has been busy here at the Red Lion, a polite reminder that we do have a public car park down the road, when our car park is overflowing - there have been a lot of customers parking in residential areas 🚗

Anyway, back to it ⬇️

Serving food this week ⬇️
Tuesday 5:30-8pm
Wednesday- Saturday 12-3, 5:30-8:30pm
Sunday it’s Llangynidr Agricultural Show we’ll be opening the kitchen all day 12-7pm
Monday (bank holiday) 12-3pm, closing the pub at 9pm for drinks!

We do advise booking!

Also we have Ben, Dai and some other guy here at 8:30pm on Saturday 29th August 🎶

🚗 A polite parking reminder for our customers🚗

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who visits us at the Red Lion, but we do have a small favour to ask.

Recently, a number of vehicles have been parked in the surrounding residential streets, blocking access and making it difficult for local residents. More importantly, parked cars can restrict access for emergency vehicles should they ever be needed, which is something we all want to avoid.

If our car park is full, please use the Llangynidr Community Car Park, which is free of charge and only a short walk away.

Directions:
📍 Continue past the turning to the Red Lion on the main road and take the first left if you’re coming from Crickhowell way. If you’re coming from Brecon way it’s the right before the public toilets/village hall.

The community car park is signposted and is just a couple of minutes' walk back to the pub. It offers plenty of free parking.

It’s party season at the moment 🥳 which means we’ll be closed Saturday from 3pm to celebrate one of our locals 50th birthdays!

Food service times this week are ⬇️

Saturday 12-2pm
Sunday 12-4pm

We’ll be showing the rugby and the football this weekend too ⚽️🏈

Please note we will be closed to the public on Saturday 1st August until 6pm, to celebrate the wonder life of our very much loved local Phil Smith❤️

In Loving Memory of Phil Smith.

Family and friends are warmly invited to join us as we celebrate the life of Phil Smith of Cae Porth, Llangynidr.

Phil's funeral service will take place on Saturday 1st August 2026 at 11:30am at Sirhowy Valley Crematorium.

In honour of Phil, the family would love for those attending to wear a rugby shirt or something red, reflecting his passion for Wales and rugby.

Donations in lieu of flowers are kindly welcomed in support of the Royal British Legion, with a donation box available at the chapel on the day of the service.

Following the service, everyone is warmly invited to continue sharing memories of Phil at The Red Lion, Llangynidr.

Our thoughts are with Jan, Claire, Abi and all of Phil's family and friends at this difficult time. ❤️
