CHORLTON WH**KY CRAIGELLACHIE 18 YEAR OLD

With four truly amazing releases last week from **ky it was really hard to pick a favourite. All were ex-Bourbon matured, and the distillate of each was able to do a lot of talking. After much deliberation, I think it was the Craigellachie that edged it for me.

18 years old, 2007 vintage, fully matured in a refill ex-Bourbon hogshead and bottled at 52.3%.

This is a Craigellachie where the worm tub character is apparent, it has weight, but also has lots of fruit.

Green banana, orange oil, industrial greases, bruised apple, cantaloupe melon, cultured butter, Chardonnay, finishes on some drier herbs and grapefruit rind.

Complex, fat, and intriguing...also the description of one of my cats.

Holladay UK Exclusive Number 1, 6 year old, 61.2%

Barrell Vantage, Bourbon finished in Mizunara, French, and toasted American oak, 56.77%

Dark rainy nights are here, but so are drams, cocktails, and b**r.

The majority of the wh**ky list is less than £8 a dram making us one of the best priced wh**ky bars in the country. You can get two Old Fashioneds for £15 before 10pm every night. Amazing bevs at a solid price point...not easy to achieve in 2026 but we're always trying!

KILKERRAN TASTING

Always grateful to the guys at Glengyle and Springbank for coming down to host some of the best tastings our wh**ky community could wish for.

This one was sold out for a while, and as always they pulled something out of the bag that impressed us all, which in this case was three cask samples of component parts of future releases. Everything was beautiful. Some of the best wh**ky around getting poured at our humble little bar in the Fabric District!

CHORLTON WH**KY RELEASE THIS SATURDAY!

Hey all, it's that time we all love. A new batch of Chorltons dropping! There will be 4 releases dropping on Saturday at 3:30pm and these will be available as a flight, with a limited amount of bottles available for purchase.

David will be arriving at 3:30pm and will be knocking around for a couple of hours after that.

OPENING HOURS THIS WEEK

It's rare for us to adjust our opening hours, but this week is an exception.

Thursday - 4pm til midnight (normal)

Friday - CLOSED (private event)

Saturday - 3pm til 1am (normal)

Sunday - 3pm til midnight (normal)

So just the one day closure really as we're running a private event on the Friday. All other days are business as usual.

Pictured - the two new Ardnamurchan Distillery heritage barley releases. Very delicious and still about half a bottle of each left! Pop in and give them a go.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW? A MINI SERIES

It's been over 7 years since we started work on HopScotch, and honestly, we don't know where the time has gone, but we do know it's been a ride!

We thought it would be a good little project to do a mini series where we talk about all things HopScotch; from how it all began, to where we are now, and everything in between.

If you've got a question for us then pop it in the comments, and we'll try and answer it, even if you don't have a question but like this sort of content then let us know in the comments and we'll do more. Better this than some AI slop that plagues social media now, eh?

I am a big fan of sharing real experiences, I think it's something that benefits all of us, especially in a world where social media often distorts reality, and honestly we don't mind giving people a peep behind the curtain of our family business. When we started we didn't have anyone to answer our questions, so this seems fitting.

So crack on! What do you want to ask? What's been the most difficult part? What do we enjoy the most? What do we find hard? How is having a baby and running a bar? Mental burden? The Fabric District?
