Yesterday, Tom and Loz Campbell had the absolute privilege of visiting Saxon Hill Academy and what an incredible day it was β€οΈπ
We were warmly welcomed by the students and staff, enjoyed lunch together π½οΈ and were given a tour of the school. To say we were humbled would be an understatement. It was emotional, inspiring and genuinely eye-opening β€οΈβ¨
Over the past few months, we have been working closely with some of the school's wonderful 18-19 year old students as part of their work experience placements. Visiting the school really opened our eyes to the incredible journey these young adults have been on, especially when we learned that Saxon Hill supports children from as young as 2 years old right through to young adulthood β€οΈπβΏ
Meeting so many incredible young people, each with their own unique personalities, talents and ambitions, was something we'll never forget β€οΈ
What stood out most was the amazing staff. The care, patience, dedication and genuine passion they bring every single day is nothing short of extraordinary πβ€οΈ
Teschers and nurses alike ππ»
The team at Saxon Hill don't just educate. They empower π They build confidence πͺ They encourage independence π€ They create opportunities β¨ and they help every child and young adult thrive in their own unique way β€οΈπ
The positivity throughout the school was infectious. Everywhere we looked there were smiles π, laughter π, creativity π¨, friendship π€ and a wonderful sense of belonging β€οΈ
Following our visit, we had the pleasure of welcoming the students back to us for their final work experience placement, finishing with a fabulous celebration party ππΆπΊπ. Seeing the confidence, enthusiasm and joy they brought was truly special and a credit to both them and the incredible team supporting them β€οΈ
To all of the students, thank you for bringing so much energy, personality and happiness through our doors. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves πβ€οΈ
And to every member of staff at Saxon Hill, thank you. The work you do changes lives. The support, encouragement and opportunities you provide help make these incredible young people's futures brighter, fuller and more independent every single day β€οΈπβ¨
This wasn't just a school visit. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusion π, community π€, opportunity β and believing in every person's potential β€οΈ
We're also delighted to share that this is only the beginning of our relationship with Saxon Hill. Tom Instone was so moved by what he saw that he'll soon be joining the school as a volunteer on some of his mornings off β€οΈπ€
We can't wait to continue supporting such an incredible school and being part of the amazing work they do every day πβ¨
Thank you for having us. We left feeling inspired, grateful and with very full hearts β€οΈ
After completing their shopping on Monday, the students warmly welcomed Tom and Loz from 55 Wade Street for a shared lunchtime visit. The group worked collaboratively to prepare a fresh, homeβcooked meal, demonstrating both teamwork and hospitality. Once lunch was served, the students took great pride in hosting their guests, engaging them in conversation and ensuring they felt fully included in the school community. Following the meal, two students offered to guide Tom and Loz on a tour of the school, showcasing key learning spaces, introducing them to staff and peers, and giving them an insight into daily life at Saxon Hill.
