It’s the hours spent making everything from scratch. Carrot cakes being baked, pastry being made by hand, homemade desserts being finished and produce picked from the garden ready to make its way onto your plate.

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes at The Yew Tree before your food reaches the table and that’s exactly how we like it. Homemade food, good ingredients and as much as we can made right here in our kitchen.

A summers day at The Yew Tree 🍃☀️🍅

From the moment the doors open, there’s always something happening. Fish & chips heading out of the kitchen, homemade desserts being made from scratch and plenty of plates making their way out.

To our herbs and tomatoes growing right here in our garden, picked and added straight to the plate.

Homemade food, a cold drink in the sunshine and our little spot in the heart of Borrowdale. Summer days at The Yew Tree are hard to beat.

A little look at what’s been coming out of the kitchen lately… 🍴

Pork Belly Yakitori, made from start to finish. Okonomi glazed pork belly bites, spiced apple slaw, micro coriander and sesame seeds. Carefully prepared, beautifully balanced and full of flavour.

Good food doesn’t need overcomplicating. Just quality ingredients, attention to detail and a kitchen that cares about every plate that leaves it.

The kind of place you come for lunch… and accidentally stay all afternoon ☀️🍻

Good food, a cold drink in hand, the garden in full bloom and nowhere you need to rush off to.

Bring the dog, grab a table outside and settle in for a proper weekend lunch, Sunday roast or just a few drinks in the sunshine 🍃

Most people see the beer garden, the bar and the plates arriving at the table… What they don’t see is everything that happens before that ✨

The fresh local ingredients. The homemade pastry. The desserts homemade and being finished by hand. The time and care that goes into every dish before it ever leaves the kitchen.

For us, great food isn’t about taking shortcuts. It’s about keeping things honest, using quality local produce and making food we’re proud to serve.

It’s the little things behind the scenes that make all the difference 🍃🍴

Fresh, colourful and packed with flavour 🥗🌶️

Our loaded chicken salad is one of those dishes that just hits the spot. Fresh salad, perfectly seared chicken, crispy onions, a little chilli and a squeeze of lime to bring it all together.

If you’re after something lighter without missing out on flavour, this one’s definitely worth trying. Pop in, grab a table and enjoy it in the garden while the sunshine’s here ☀️

The kind of dish that was made for days like this ☀️🥢

Our Tuna Poke Bowl is served pink with coconut sticky rice, edamame, pickled ginger, sweet and sour vegetables, sesame ponzu dressing and wasabi mayo. Fresh, light and packed with flavour.
