When we walked into The Alford just over four weeks ago to meet our new team, we were definitely nervous. But when one of the first questions was, “Will there still be a staff summer party?”… we knew straight away that The Alford team were just like our other two pubs! 😂

Three pubs, three fantastic teams, one family! To see our new team mingling, laughing and dancing alongside our other two teams really reaffirmed just how lucky we are — and how grateful we are that David and Becky trusted us with their fantastic team and the legacy they’ve built. ❤️

🍻🍷🍕 Drinks, pizza & bingo — and things got competitive… although are we really surprised when a lasagne dish was one of the bingo prizes?! 😂 Someone is currently holding Teddy’s prize hostage… 🎱 Head in at lunchtime and cross examine Kate… 👀 (Oops, did we say that out loud?! 😂)

Then it was onto the dance floor, where we danced the night away to 80s & 90s bangers! 🕺🏼💃🏼

👗 Best dressed goes to Amy from The Old Queens Head! 🏆 (Last photo, so keep scrolling!) You absolutely understood the assignment. 👏😂

A giggle from start to finish and the perfect way to round off a brilliant summer. ❤️

And for us, it was extra special — because we’ve only been part of The Alford pub family for a month! 🥹💕 One month of getting to know an amazing team, learning the ropes, settling in and feeling so incredibly welcomed.

So, a huge thank you to our dream team. We know everyone says their team is a dream team… but the hard work, graft, dedication and most importantly, the love you all have for each other really does make ours pretty special. 🥹❤️

Here’s to the cosy season ahead, plenty more laughs, and many more nights like this! 🍻

Charlotte and Kate are especially looking forward to cracking open the magnums of rosé at 5pm sharp, as our doors close for the day! 🍾💃 Tonight we are heading out to celebrate a summer of hard work with our brilliant teams before our uni students head off again. 🎉

See you today for lunch or pop in tomorrow to see us - sure we will have a few tales to tell… we’re already trying to work out who’s going to be the most competitive during a game of bongan bingo! 🏆

✨ Most important thing first… Bubble & Squeak is here to stay! ✨

One week into Alford Arms life and it really is a dream come true and a proper pinch us moment for us both. We’ve been customers here for years, and know how special it is to all of you. Jack has been coming since he was 12, the very year David and Becky opened the doors!

A huge thank you to Becky and David for creating such a special place over the past 28 years. We feel incredibly lucky to be taking on the next chapter.

And one thing is already very clear — the magic is in the team. James, Charlotte, Jamie and their amazing gang will continue looking after you day to day, and we couldn’t be happier to have them by our side. 💕
