The Red Lion, set near the river in Water End, is our modern interpretation of an original Public Ho
(1355)

The Red Lion combines comfort, atmosphere and style in a building that dates back to the early 1700's. The original listed building has been renovated sympathetically to create a warm and cosy bar with open fires and the more modern part of the building showcasing Oakman Inns & Restaurants' signature open kitchen and airy and contemporary restaurant. For the warmer months, this opens into a stylish outside paved area for alfresco dining. Join us for breakfast, morning coffee or tea, and a selection of fresh cakes and pastries. Enjoy a range of Mediterranean-inspired lunches or dinners, featuring dishes grilled in our charcoal-fuelled Josper oven and genuine Italian hand-made pizzas cooked in our wood-fired pizza oven. Our bar is open all day, with an extensive list of wines, beers, real ales and cocktails.

And just like that, Christmas is creeping closer! ❤️

The festive vibes are well and truly starting here, and although we’re currently closed while we give the pub a little refurb and some TLC, we promise it’ll be worth the wait! 🛠️🍂

We can’t wait to welcome you all back for cosy Sundays, delicious roasts, a few festive tipples and, of course, the launch of our Christmas menu! 🍽️🎅

We’re counting down the days until we’re back doing what we love – welcoming you through our doors and making memories with you all.

Things are starting to take shape, and we’re so excited to share what’s in store! 👀

Here’s a little glimpse of what’s to come:
🚻 Brand-new toilets - a fresh new look
🍻 Higher booths perfect for popping in for a pint
🪑 Lower booths perfect for enjoying a bite to eat
🍺A lower bar perfect for us to welcome you

You may also notice the trees have had a good trim 🌳👀 They needed a little extra care, so we reduced the height to help them flourish again. The good news is they’ll regrow, so it’s not goodbye forever! 💚

We’re working hard behind the scenes to bring everything together, and we can’t wait to welcome you all back and show you the finished result! ❤️
