Yesterday evening was a bit special as it was the first of what we hope will be many editions of the Feral Writers Crawl.

So many events in Hastings concentrate on the old town but guess what the New Town has amazing venues with friendly faces and prices to match and it was lovely that we got to keep this one all to ourselves.

Huge thanks to all the writers involved and especially to .ex Chris Limb (great to have you all back) and making their debut at the bar.

Unfortunately we didn't get pictures of you lot however we do have one of the man who came up with the idea for this wonderful night - step forward .

This was just a taster for the Hastings Book Festival - please support this event in the coming weeks.

What an afternoon it was on Sunday to round off summer at twelve hundred postcards as our 2 protagonists Natty Nick and Mike D battled it out back to back to a rapturous crowd.

Thanks to them both for providing some amazing tunes and for everyone that came along to enjoy the party.

The atmosphere was the BEST.

15 writers. 15 minutes. 7 Venues. One Free Book Festival.

Our first ever Feral Writers Crawl is a free mini festival on 3 September, starting at 7pm. We have fifteen incredible writers, poets and authors performing work that covers life and death, history, poetry, mystery and criminality, horror and humour, folklore and breaking the law.

Our Feral Writers include bestselling writers Cathryn Kemp on witch trials, Evie King on arranging funerals, and Jake Arnott talking about his new novel Netherwood. We've also got local heroes Henry Normal, Tim Barlow, the Untruth Seekers, Mel Atkinson, Geoff Martin, Antony Clayton, Ed Bingham, Jenny Hammerton, Della Reynolds, Hannah Dolby, Chris Limb and Scott Wood – who also put the whole event together!

Hosting them are seven magnificent independent venues across Hastings: Greyskull Coffee, French's Bar, The Good Place, Pissaro's, Barnaby's, The Seadog and 1200 Postcards.

We were there at the first ever gig of .temple.prayer last night and what a superb debut it was. You guys made us all proud.

It was great to see such numbers out in support of the band.

Big thanks to both Pauls, Chris and Kim for giving us a night to remember. Thanks also to for putting together the evening and to the 2 other bands for their excellent sets.

Huge love to and to Dj 525 for playing banging tunes all night long at In Between Days our monthly alternative night last Saturday. (Always on the first Saturday of the month.)

These two will be playing as half of .temple.prayer on at tonight from 7:30. Its going to be epic.
