Today we come together to remember Sam Dean β a man who lived a full life, made plenty of memories, and left his mark on so many people along the way.
For us at the Lloyds Arms, Sam wasn't simply a customer. He had been part of the Lloyds family for more years than we'd probably like to remember! Over all those years, he became one of those familiar faces who helped make the pub what it is.
Sam was proudly Scottish, proudly Manchester United, and I'm sure he was never short of an opinion β especially when it came to football! There will be plenty of memories of Sam putting the world to rights, having a laugh, or a moan with a few colourful words thrown in..
But above everything else, Sam was a family man. His wife Cookie, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were such an important part of his life. He was blessed to see generations of his family grow, and that is something truly special.
At Lloyds, we will miss seeing him walk through the door. We'll miss his face, his voice, his stories and his presence.
A pub is made by the people who become part of it, and Sam was certainly one of those people.
So today, we raise a glass to Sam. Jamesons, if you will.
To a proud Scotsman, a devoted family man, a lifelong Manchester United fan, and a much-loved character of the Lloyds Arms.
