Back by popular demand! Join us on Thursday 27th July for a blind tasting featuring five glorious SMWS whiskies. You'll have multiple choices to guess the whisky you'll be drinking in this five-dram tasting.

The ultimate goal? To beat the ambassador leading the tasting.

And the twist? The ambassador won't know what the whiskies are either and will be guessing right along with you.

A Society supper is included along with a prize for the winner!

Join us as we explore the cask! Uncover how wood and spirit come together to create exceptional whisky. This tasting takes you on a journey into the cask itself, revealing how the liquids that once filled it shape character, influence flavour, and leave a lasting impression on every dram.

Our expert guide, Diego Borras, will lead you through five Society whiskies, paired with samples of the liquids that previously inhabited their casks, offering a rare opportunity to experience the cask’s full story from beginning to end.

The new make spirit in our 50th anniversary casks has only just become whisky. Our first samples will be on their way to our Cask Club later this year. Want to take part? There’s still time to get into the 50th Cask Club, and there are now some new sherry casks to choose from.

Join us and share in the experience of selecting a cask of new-make spirit from distilleries 8, 10, 11, 42 and 123. You’ll be able to monitor your cask’s maturation through to 2033. Then, on the Society’s 50th anniversary that year, you’ll be able to bottle your own whisky with a specially customised label and share in the delights of your 10-year-old dram.

Thursday the 18th of June we are hosting a tasting that will be focusing on the distilleries that use a worm tub condenser in their distillation process.

With a reduced copper contact these whiskies typically have a heavier, more robust flavour. This is the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into this type of distillation and what makes it so unique.
