Last nights tasting with The Folkestone Distillery was so much fun!

We sampled all 3 of their spirits neat and mixed alongside some paired snacks. And it went down a treat.

There was nothing but praise from the eager samplers. Some even converted to Spiced Rum for the first time, yes, it was that good.

The theme was Monster, the medium was collage, the end product was MASKS! Who knew that would be such a fun combo? The brilliant Joy Thomas - that’s who knew!

Joy was our guest artist for last nights collage club and she brought all her wonderful creative energy, plus lots of sweet wrappers to the occasion!

Thanks so much Joy, and thanks to all the collage clubbers who brought their A game last night. Lovely vibes, loads of chats and such a brilliant range of masks.

Collage Club happens every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Tickets are £5 and they go on sale at the start of each month via our website or the link in our bio on Insta.

A lovely little mention of Collage Club amongst a fabulous feature of collage artists in Folkestone by Chloe Darke - thanks Chloe for coming to check out Collage Club and including us in this article.

This weeks Collage Club is already fully booked, but you can drop us a DM to be put on the waiting list. They happen every 3rd Wednesday of the month with tickets going on sale at the start of each new month.

GOOD SH*T, GOOD PEOPLE: a seasonal makers’ market curated by .og and Lauren Willis

Come along on Sat 14 & Sun 15 Nov to browse and buy from a brilliant group of makers, artists and creatives.

Open 9am - midday both days, you can expect a range of bloomin’ good art, gifts and food made by some bloomin’ good people.

Did you know that Folkestone has its own distillery? Yup, award winning gin and rum handcrafted right here in Folkestone. And the lovely folks who run it will be joining us for a tasting session on Thu 22 Oct.

We’ve been proud stockists of their gin for a while and added their spiced rum to the shelves more recently (how could we not when the artwork is by Dicky Smiles 🤩) so we’re delighted to be welcoming them to The B**r Shop to taste their range and learn more about them.

If you join us, you’ll be treated to samples of all 3 of their spirits, both neat and with a mixer. Plus we’ll be cracking out some snacks for you to nibble on as we go.

You may recognise the face of lovely Liz Rees on this poster. She’s one of our wonderful regulars and she is doing an amazing thing and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise awareness of and money for The FTD Brothers Foundation

Part of her fundraising efforts includes a raffle (theres still time to grab a ticket - link in bio) where you can win some fabulous prizes.

She’ll be drawing the raffle and announcing the winners this Thursday 08 October, from 7pm at our place.

Oktoberfest at our place is not just about the b**r (believe it or not!) so can we just take a moment to appreciate the food 😋
