A big thank you to everyone who came out to see us and try the new menu last week! It went down really well, the restaurant was beautifully busy, and we loved seeing everyone enjoying the new dishes.

A firm favourite so far is definitely the Poached Halibut, Mussels, Potato Croquette, Baby Leeks, and Chive Sauce.

After three brilliant years with us at The Dove, today is Felix’s final Sunday shift before he heads off to university!

Felix has been a huge part of The Dove team, and we’re incredibly grateful for all his hard work, the laughs and everything he’s brought to the pub over the years.

If you’re joining us today, make sure you wish him well — and perhaps buy him a farewell drink! 🍺

🏆 WE’RE TOP 3 FINALISTS! 🏆

We are absolutely delighted to announce that The Dove at Dargate has been selected as one of just THREE finalists for Kent Dining Experience of the Year 2026 at the Taste of Kent Awards! ❤️

The journey started with the public vote, where your incredible support helped us make the Top 10 dining experiences in Kent.

From there, the judging panel reviewed the Top 10 alongside our submission and online presence — and we are incredibly proud to have made it through to the FINAL THREE:

🍽️ The Dove at Dargate — Dargate
🍽 Drift — Whitstable
🍽️ The Pig at Bridge Place — Bridge

To be standing alongside two fantastic Kent establishments is something we're extremely proud of.

There is now just one final stage — an anonymous mystery visit 👀🍽️ — before Gold, Silver and Bronze are revealed at the Taste of Kent Awards ceremony on 8th October.

We're a small independent pub with a small team, so to be recognised at this level for what we do means an incredible amount to us.

A massive THANK YOU to our team, our brilliant suppliers and every single person who voted for us, visits us, recommends us and continues to support The Dove. ❤️

8 years of The Dove ❤️

Yesterday marked 8 years since we took on The Dove, and what better way to celebrate than doing it on Sunday with a packed pub, sunshine, BBQ and live music!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday for our BBQ with Ozzie and The Uglies
Seeing the garden full, great atmosphere and so many familiar faces enjoying themselves was the perfect way to celebrate this milestone.

8 years ago we took on this pub with a dream of creating somewhere people could come together, enjoy great food, drinks and make memories — and we honestly couldn’t have done it without all of our amazing customers, friends, family, our suppliers and the incredible team past and present.

There have been plenty of challenges along the way, plenty of obstacles which we've overcome, but so many incredible moments that make it all worthwhile.
Running a Pub/Restaurant is bloody hard work 🤣🤣

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has supported us, visited us, recommended us, celebrated with us and been part of The Dove journey over the last 8 years.

Here’s to the next chapter 🥂 we've hopefully many more years to come 🙏

We are incredibly proud to share that The Dove at Dargate has been nominated for the Good Food Guide 100 Best Pubs 2026 ❤️

To be recognised amongst some of the best pubs in the country is a huge honour, and it means even more as a small independent pub built on the support of our amazing customers.

Every day, we work hard to create great food, serve quality drinks, support local suppliers and make The Dove a place where people feel welcome.
