⚽ The FIFA World Cup kicks off this Thursday, with England's first match on the 17th — and we're now into the final selections for our World Cup Sweepstake and Super 6 competition.

If you've been sitting on the sidelines, it's time to get off the bench and into the game. The transfer window is about to slam shut, we're heading into added time, and there'll be no VAR review, injury time or extra time once entries close!

🏆 World Cup Sweepstake – £2 per team
Not just prizes for the winners. There are awards for all sorts of footballing glory (and disaster), including the dirtiest team, the biggest defeat, the first penalty, and more.

⚽ Selling Super 6
Pick the scores of six Round 1 matches. Two points for a correct score, one point for the correct result. The top of the league at the final whistle takes the cash pot.

Sign up in the pub, or if you can't make it in but really want to play, we'll accept your entry by email and payment by bank transfer.

Don't get caught offside and miss out — when the referee blows the whistle, entries are closed!

Our original Dining Room Supper Club date for the English Midsummer Garden Party on Wednesday 24th June sold out very quickly, so we added a second evening on Tuesday 23rd June.

That second date currently has just 8 places remaining, and we've had lots (and lots!) of people expressing interest.

If you're thinking of joining us for an evening of seasonal food, good company and a little midsummer magic, we'd recommend booking sooner rather than later and securing your place with a deposit.

Once these places are gone, they're gone — we won't be adding a third date.

As we continue to introduce our refreshed wine list, we're encouraging ourselves (and you!) to try a few wines that are a little different from the usual favourites.

This week we're featuring Bedoba Saperavi 2023 from Georgia – one of the world's oldest wine-producing countries.

We have to be honest, it was the beautiful label and weighty bottle that first caught our eye. Thankfully, the wine more than lived up to expectations.

Deep in colour, rich and full-bodied, it has flavours of dark berries, spice and a hint of black pepper, with a smooth, velvety finish. It's a wine with plenty of character, but still very easy to enjoy.

Produced using a blend of modern winemaking and traditional Georgian methods, it's something a little different from the usual Malbec, Merlot or Shiraz – and that's exactly why we like it.

Choose any of our Pieminister pies with mash & veg or chips/fries & peas, plus a pint (alternative drinks available) for £16.

A quick heads-up: we're busy at lunchtime today with a function, so if you're planning to eat with us, please give us a call first.

World Cup Sweepstake – £2 per entry
It's not just the winning team that wins a prize. You could also walk away with cash if your team:

English Midsummer Garden Party

Join us for a relaxed summer feast celebrating the best of the season, shared around the table with good food and good company.

So popular was our last Supper Club that guests were booking this one before they had even finished dessert, and we've now added a second evening to meet demand.
