Quayside Distillery has been chosen as one of the first places in Exeter to help preview and shape a brand-new social concept launching in 2027 👀
Before anything goes live, we want to hear from the people it’s actually being created for.
So we’re inviting single people from Exeter and the surrounding area to join us at Quayside for a first look at the idea, hear how it works, and tell us what you genuinely think — what you like, what worries you, what you’d change, where you’d want to go, what days and times would suit you, and whether you’d actually use it.

Out out, or out in? 👀

Here’s a little glimpse of how winter on the water could look at Quayside.

A clear roof and sides to keep those lovely canal views. Heating to keep you cosy. And breakfast, brunch and lunch worth making plans for.

Imagine rain rippling across the water while something delicious arrives at your table. Catching up with a friend over a slow breakfast, or settling in for lunch and deciding there’s definitely time for dessert.

We’re turning our floating pontoon into somewhere you can enjoy through the colder months — sheltered from the weather, but still right in the middle of the view.

Alongside the transformation, we’re working on an updated menu and online table bookings, so you can pick a day, gather your favourite people and know there’s a table waiting.

We can’t wait to welcome you aboard this autumn. Opening details, menu previews and bookings coming soon.

A little peek at what’s coming to the water 👀

These drawings show the next chapter for our floating bar: a clear roof and clear sides to keep those lovely canal views, with heating to make things cosy throughout the winter.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you for relaxed dining on the water, even when the weather has other ideas. We’ll share more as it takes shape!

We’re making a few changes on the water.

In around a month, our floating pontoon is due to get a roof, sides and heating — making it a place to settle in and enjoy the canal through the colder months too! Think “apres-ski” on the water

Alongside that, we’re working on an updated menu, with more dishes to sit down and make a meal of. You’ll soon be able to reserve your table online as well.

The same Quayside welcome, with more reasons to stay a little longer.

We’ll share the food, the progress and booking details here as everything comes together.

Turns out school is considerably more fun when gin’s on the curriculum.

Choose your botanicals, build your own recipe, distil your very own gin and leave with a full bottle of your creation to take home.

You even get to name it — which, depending on how many drinks you’ve had by that point, could go either way.

Meet Ben — one of the latest additions to the Quayside crew and officially part of the furniture.

He’ll be here keeping things running, pouring the drinks and generally making sure your weekends on the water are suitably well spent.
