You may recall our 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐬 & 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 feature throughout our time at Offenham TP (although for one reason and another this year we haven't posted as many) .... well, we think we should change the name for 2027 to 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 & 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 as it does appear food IS more prominent than walks & bike rides 😂

So, as our season is coming to an end (NOT the end of the camping season though, the site is open til 31st January!) .. I thought i'd let you know what have been our favourite places to visit to 𝙀𝘼𝙏 over this season.

Still a firm favourite, although we only visited twice this year (which we are shocked about) is Lower Clopton Farm Shop and Cafe - if anyone is visiting and has bikes we always recommend cycling here for a pit stop 🍰☕ ... its a nice 18 mile loop.

For ice cream it has to be Gelato Chipping Campden ... I don't even want to try count how many visits we had here 🤭 .. we did have a very warm summer!

Scone fans ... it HAS to be Blockley Café, they simply are THE best! Dave has jam & cream (obvs!) and Pam has cheese & chutney 👌 - their coffee is also excellent and they do sell pods & ground if you want to take some home.

The Round Of Gras Badsey is usually our Wednesday night treat as their carvery is just 👌 ... proper home cooking. We have also been known to go on a Tuesday for Pie night (but not in the same week 🤣).

Moreton in Marsh Tuesday morning market has some amazing food sellers - we particularly like the sausage roll stall and also the one selling cakes & breads (Pam is also a fan of "the licorice man"!).
.. and if we fancy a curry (which is often!) our go to is The Ivy Inn - North Littleton, just 5 mins drive up the road.

We can't wait to sample more delights in the area in 2027 ... and we'll be sure to let you know about them ... and we do promise more walks! 🥾

🍺🇬🇧 WELL, WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY TO BE A BRITISH PUB OWNER! 🇬🇧🍺

We’ve been watching today’s Budget with great excitement, wondering what wonderful surprises the Government might have in store for us hardworking small business owners.

And once again, we haven’t been disappointed! 😂

👏 Minimum wage going up! Fantastic! We’re delighted for our staff. Now, if someone could just explain where we’re supposed to find the extra money, that would be marvellous.

👏 Alcohol duty going up! Brilliant! Because obviously the best way to encourage people back into British pubs is to make drinking more expensive.

👏 VAT staying at 20%! Phew! For a moment there, we thought the Government might actually give hospitality a proper break. That was a close one!

👏 Business rates relief! Lovely! A bit of help with one bill while the others continue arriving like an Amazon delivery driver on commission.

👏 Energy bills! Still keeping us entertained. Who doesn’t enjoy opening an electricity bill with the same sense of dread as opening their GCSE results?

But fear not! Apparently, we’re being given some “breathing space.”

Which is wonderful, because breathing is currently one of the few things we can still do without being taxed. Although we probably shouldn’t give them ideas. 🤣

Meanwhile, we’ll continue doing what we do best…

🍺 Working ridiculously long hours.

🍔 Serving good food.

❤️ Supporting our local community.

💷 Employing local people.

🎶 Putting on entertainment.

😊 Smiling sweetly when someone tells us a pint was £2.50 in 1997.

And, of course, being told that if we just stopped buying takeaway coffees and avocados, we’d probably be millionaires by now.

The great British pub.

Apparently a treasured national institution, right up until someone has to help keep one open.

Anyway, enough moaning. We’ve got b**r to pour, food to cook, bills to pay and approximately 47 different people waiting for a slice of the same £5 note.

Cheers to the Budget! 🥂

We’d raise a glass, but we’re waiting to see if we can afford to fill it.

Still open. Still smiling. Still wondering why we didn’t just buy a caravan in Spain. 🇪🇸🤣
