Wainwrights weekender report from Pete & Mark

Mark & Pete had a ā€˜mopping up’ job when it came to our hills, from Causey Pike to Ard Rigg, via Scar Crags and Knott Rigg, all in the North Western sector. Map reading skills. It had been recommended these were brushed up on before setting out. To make sure we got any map reading errors out o

Taproom Special write up! - Jeff Roberts

Last Saturday I was back in Edinburgh to lead my Taproom Special run. The forecast suggested we were going to get the classic July weather this run seems to attract but actually it turned out quite nice with only a few refreshing spots of rain and even a glimpse of sunshine. This did mean that altho

SIPR report from Craig - keep those reports coming :)

What doesn’t break us makes us stronger - The last decade has been full of change for me. Pushing boundaries both in work and life. Finlay Todd and Emily McNicol, both Carnethy, delivered, smashing the previous bests by some distance. Todd led home a record field of 75

Distance: 8.6km | Ascent: 460m | Race: 52 | Total: 71 The third handicap in the series posed a conundrum: should runners go over the hills or contour around them? We have no statistics on the best or most popular option, but according to one spectator, going over Capelaw and Harbour Hill on the way

Swiss Scenic Trail:

While Scotland fans were preparing for the FIFA World Cup — a celebration of sitting around, watching football, and getting uncontrollably drunk — four of us from the club headed to southern Switzerland for the Scenic Trail. The race series is based in southern Switzerland on the Italian border,...

On 30th May, a healthy crop of Carnethies arrived at the quaint village of Durisdeer, via a road deemed too narrow by this infrequent motorist. Adrenaline already pumping after two narrow entrances were navigated, Ben Stevens and I had a cool 105 minutes to wait until the start of the race. Infreque
