First time drawing in a million years and I drew a weird little naked forest lady and I kinda like how she looks like she's just waiting for you to get over it.

I've resuscitated my blog, can you believe it??

Hey friends! I’ve had a revelation. My revelation was that, as they become harder and harder to use, I can barely be bothered with Instragram and Facebook anymore. I also realised that, becau…

Back in 2020 (HOW is that four years ago???) I briefly flirted with illustrated journaling. It came to an abrupt end when I mislaid the sketchbook I was using, but I just found it again, and did not want you to miss out on the last couple of entries. You're welcome.

Wow, thanks one hundred million to the genius that suggested trying again with a pasta machine, what a difference! There may be loads of these now. 😍

(Also this could probably fairly be described as my first *successful* use of this pasta machine overall )

Finally a half-decent* tetrapak print. (*By which I mean, one vaguely recognisable as what it's supposed to be).

It seems, all my problems with this process could be solved by just dropping a couple of hundred quid on a mini printing press, but since I'm not planning to make a career out of this, a big spoon and more elbow grease than I liked had to do. There may not be any more of these ever again.

Swipe to enjoy (a VERY SMALL selection of) my failed attempts.

First make of the new year: years ago, I found a little box at an antiques place near my home town. The seller told me these boxes used to be made in my home town and that they're now collectors' items.

At the time, I couldn't find out any more about the producers of these boxes, and I'd never seen anything similar before. So imagine my surprise, when I received a calendar of my hometown this year, and it had an article on the whole history of the company in it!

Suddenly, it turned out that, although nobody could remember seeing the boxes, lots of people remembered the company, and my great aunt even worked there!

Anyways, the boxes were made out of "hard paper", which is created by covering long sheets of packing paper in glue and wrapping them around a form to create a hard material in the shape you want. Naturally, it did not take long for me to start itching to try it, and it worked really well!

(Swipe to see the original box)
