The Lady Captain has chosen Air Ambulance NI as her charity.

Since it took to the air in July 2017 the Air Ambulance has been tasked almost 6,000 times – in fact every single day in NI two individuals find themselves in need of it. Not only does it air lift people to hospital, it carries a doctor and paramedic who will deliver the very best pre-hopsital care at the scene and whilst transporting the patient. It can reach anywhere in the Province in 25 – 30 minutes and this rapid response is vital in an emergency situation. If a patient reaches hospital in the Golden Hour – that first 60 minutes after their injury, their chances of survival are dramatically increased. As a rural area, the Air Ambulance is vital for Dungannon.

What is not widely know is that Air Ambulance NI is a charity. Each day costs in the region of £8,200 and each year £3 million is needed to keep this service in the air. So, please dig deep.

There will be collection buckets in the clubhouse and the golf shop, and any donation – big or small – will be gratefully received.

Despite Tuesday's torrential downpours making conditions incredibly tricky, Dympna Fitzpatrick rose to the top, with Helen Murphy close behind in second place. Thanks to the Lady Captain, Jayne Henry, for generously sponsoring this competition.

The weekly 9 hole stableford continues to prove popular and this week's winner was Valerie Todd, with Jill White in the runner-up position. Both ladies have won prizes in previous weeks, so they're obviously getting ready for Lady Captain's Day on Saturday!
