Did you know that the popular dessert "Baked Alaska" has been enjoyed for almost as long as our building has been part of The Walled City!

Credited to a creation by New York Chef Charles Ranhofer in 1867, the dessert was said to have been made to celebrate The United States acquisition of Alaska from the Russian Empire.

The tasty treat, made with a mix of crispy meringue and surprising cold inside, continues to be a popular dessert option many years later!

Today, we’re taking a little trip down memory lane to 2023, when our Senior Management Team swapped their hotel uniforms for walking shoes and took to the historic Derry Walls for a very special Fundraising Walk of the Walls.

This was in aid of the Altnagelvin Parents Group, who do such important work supporting families whose children are receiving healthcare at Altnagelvin Hospital.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who supported our fundraising, we were delighted to raise an amazing £2,500 for the group. 🌟

A memorable day, a wonderful team, and plenty of steps along the Walls!
