It might be the Buffalo wings with blue cheese or Korean BBQ sauce, the crunchy chicken fillet with bacon and cheese, or the cauliflower and onion bhaji vegan pasty that changes your mind. Then you reach the puddings and realise you haven’t finished deciding at all actually. 😂

Our new menu is now live!! 🚨
Fish and chips, scampi, sausage and mash, gammon and steak and ale pie are all present, but we’ve also added a full small-plates section. That includes everything from battered butcher’s sausage bites and loaded fries to a mini buffet selection where you can choose three pieces for £4 or fifteen for £16.

There are new burgers, sandwiches and meat-free mains to consider too, followed by a dessert section that includes a mini pudding with a hot drink for £8.

Before it became the Red Lion, this building in the Market Place was a private farmhouse. It began its transition into an inn during the 19th century, although the Red Lion name in Deddington goes back to an earlier inn in the Horse Fair area. These days, dogs are welcome through the front door, fish and chips leave through the takeaway counter, and the garden is waiting out back (when the weather allows) ❤️

The garden has done a very good job for us this year. The colder evenings simply mean the fun moves indoors, The Red Lion is just as cosy inside. Dare I say, even more. 🔥🍲 Our fireplace and our hearty pub grub will keep your warm.

We know fish and chips can’t fix everything magically, but it can help. And it's not only about that, sometimes it's about getting out of the house, sitting somewhere familiar and having a proper conversation over the fish and chips. So for Mental Health Day, treat yourself if you need it, but check in on somebody else too. ❤️
