🤎 A NEW CHAPTER FOR HODDLESDEN

Some of you may know us… we’re Nick and Connaire from The The Ranken Arms, and we’re really excited to share that we’re taking over The Village Shop, Hoddlesden!

We’re so pleased to be taking on this new venture and can’t wait to get started. We’ve got lots of ideas and really want to create somewhere special for the village, somewhere that brings people together and becomes a real part of everyday life in Hoddlesden.

First things first, The Ranken Arms isn’t going anywhere! The pub will carry on just as it is, with no change of ownership. We’ll be running both businesses, so you might even see a few collaborations between the two along the way!

So, what have we got planned for the shop?

We’re hoping to bring a little bit of everything to The Village Shop, with a great range of everyday essentials alongside some lovely extras that we think you’ll enjoy.

🥩 Meat, dairy and local farm produce
🥪 Sandwiches, salads and pasties to grab on the go
🍬 Pick & Mix sweets and confectionery
☕ Coffee and cake, with a little seating area
🍷 A w**e cellar
🎁 A gift gallery with lots of lovely things to browse

We’re really looking forward to bringing our ideas to life and creating a shop that reflects what makes Hoddlesden such a lovely village to be part of.

When will we be opening?

We’re aiming for early to mid-December, depending on the renovations. There’s plenty to organise, but we’ll keep you updated as things progress.

In the meantime, we know how important it is to have somewhere local to pick up the essentials, so The Ranken Arms Honesty Hut will be stocked every day with basics like milk, bread, butter, eggs and newspapers.

Payment at the Honesty Hut will be by card or cash with the correct change only.

We’re genuinely so excited about this next chapter and what it could mean for Hoddlesden. We can’t wait to get started and welcome you all in when the time comes.

GIG ANNOUNCEMENT

All is revealed… on Halloween Eve Eve (so Friday 30th October for all you non witchy folk), we are playing at The Ranken Arms in Hoddlesden, Darwen, for rock night 🤘

We are mega thrilled to be playing at The Ranken, a venue which has been putting on live music and bands for decades and continues to support live music.

It’s a 9pm start for us, but get yourself a table booked for food beforehand, I can vouch that it’s flippin’ fantastic!
