Nice to see we are the talk of the town (well, apart from the Kiosk being ripped down 😂) but unfortunately it's for the wrong reasons.
So I'll set this straight.
We are closed, but we have NOT closed down.
Those of you that were in on Bank Holiday Monday may have noticed my dad in attempting to fix the ladies toilets. These had been leaking for a few days and weren't filling up, but having been a Bank Holiday we didn't want to do work while people were trying to enjoy the sun and a few beers.
On our usual closure day of Tuesday, we forked out a small fortune of our own money to install a brand new toilet but this required substantial plumbing work because the piping had been tiled in and wasn't accessible. It's also on a separate water line to all the other water with a separate stop tap located in a completely different place next to electrics. This isn't as easy as it was in the gents because they have to be proper toilets rather than urinals which are a doddle to install.
During this process, we encountered problems. Problems that have made it impossible to reopen to the public.
Right now we are trying to sort through all of this to be able to reopen a safe and hospitable establishment for everyone. But this takes time, and money. A lot of it.
To those of you that actually reached out with well wishes and offers to help rather than contributing to someone's horrible sh*tspreading, you are the true heros and friends to the bar and we thank you ❤️
Jumping to conclusions and spreading unfounded rumours that the bar has closed down is significantly detrimental to the business, and this sort of gossip is just another nail in the coffin of drinking establishments in an already difficult industry. Spreading word like this informs potential future customers to skip coming because they think we are closed, and so we ask that you do not partake in this sort of rumour spreading.
