Great work from our neighbour and the best theatre in the country for their recent award! Congratulations guys.

We’re thrilled to share that last week we won the Excellence in Inclusivity award at the UK Theatre Awards! 🏆

This award recognises the hard work of our whole team, led by our Take Part Director Vanessa Managhan and Mental Health & Community Project Manager Clare O’Hara, who collected the award in London’s West End.

Through our community work, we partner with local organisations to support mental health and wellbeing, bring people together through creativity, and help tackle some of the challenges and inequalities faced by our rural community.

Winning this award will further fuel our efforts to deepen our impact and reach even more people. Our doors are open to all, and we’re only just getting started!

We want to give a huge heartfelt thank you to our brilliant team, our community, our partners and the local businesses whose generosity continue to help make it all possible.

With special thanks to Tony and Judith Yarrow who make our bursary scheme possible and to Wise Investment who have supported our free school meal programme since October 2020 helping us deliver over 17,000 holiday lunches.

We’re incredibly proud to share that The Chequers has been named Fuller’s Publican of the Year 2026 🍻

This is the first year of the award, chosen from 154 Fuller’s tenanted pubs. Huge congratulations to Joe and Kevin, and to our amazing team who make The Chequers what it is every single day. Fuller’s praised our brilliant staff, our local suppliers, and the warm welcome we give everyone who walks through the door.

I'm Ben the founder of SaltPig Curing Company.
I started SaltPig in 2016 after years working as a chef in some of the country's best kitchens.
My obsession with quality and provenance led me to curing.
I wanted to understand every part of the produce i was working with, so i began working with local farmers, breaking down whole animals and learning how to make the most of every cut.
I eventually left the kitchen to build something of my own, spending time in Italy, France and Spain to learn from the traditions that inspired me.
Thats how SaltPig was born. 🐖
