"Worth a visit!
Stopped off for a pint (lovely views from the garden) and decided to book for dinner. The fish pie was outstanding and went well with a cheeky Pinot Noir! Went for Lemon Posset dessert, and it was the best I've ever had. Staff friendly and a great place to visit. Highly recommend."

"Didn't see any Zygons.
Which is probably for the best after all that business in 1975... Anyway, popped back in here after many years for a quick lunch and it hasn't changed. Great countryside, great location and great food. Just needed a quick solo lunch after doing some work nearby and remembering The Fox Goes Free was up the road. And I'm glad I visited.

Superb burger and chips. The ale relish was lovely but is quite strong so use it sparingly in your burger. Lovely chips, although could have done with adding my own salt at the table. Yes the large salt granules add to the presentation but of course not everyone enjoys alot of salt. Food was served very promptly which was appreciated as this was a solo trip and I needed to get back to work. Minor niggles about salt aside, it was lovely to sit out in the garden after a gap of probably 20 years and have some nice food."

Whether you’re a seasoned shot or picking up a gun for the first time, our clay shoots welcome novice and experienced shooters alike.

With dates running from October through April, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a day in the Sussex countryside, followed by good food and a well-earned drink at the Fox.
