Good news for those still planning Father’s Day. 🍺

We have extended our lunch service, with more tables now available for families to join us on Sunday 21st June. Whether Dad’s idea of a perfect afternoon is a long, unhurried roast, a wander through the specials board, or simply a well-poured pint in the garden - we have it covered.

Every Dad dining with us will be welcomed with a complimentary pint of his favourite brew. A small gesture, and a very well-deserved one.

As the afternoon gives way to evening, we welcome the brilliant Freddie Lennox to the stage, fresh from performing at the Isle of Wight Festival, he will be playing live from 5pm.

For those considering making a weekend of it, June is one of the finest months to stay at The Horse & Groom. The South Downs are at their most beautiful, Chichester Festival Theatre is in full swing, and the long evenings were made for sitting in a pub garden with a glass of something good.

Book via the link in bio.

The weekend is here, and we are ready for it.

Whether you’re lacing up your boots for a morning walk across the South Downs and need a proper pit stop, or you’re settling in for a long lunch with nowhere else to be - The Horse & Groom is the place to be this weekend.

As we head into summer, the specials board is where the real magic happens. Seasonal, considered, and always worth asking about.

Dogs are of course very welcome in the pub and garden. Pull up a chair, order a round, and let the weekend do the rest.

Booking recommended for lunch and dinner - link in bio to reserve your table.

There are few pleasures finer than a crisp glass of English wine enjoyed in the dappled shade of the terrace.

As British Wine Week returns from Saturday 20 June to Sunday 28 June 2026, we’re raising a glass to the very best of local winemaking. Throughout the week, we’ll be pairing a selection of our favourite British wines, including those from Roebuck Estates, with our seasonal menu and chef’s specials.

Searching for the perfect Father’s Day gift? Our dining and stay vouchers are available via the link in our bio – a thoughtful treat for anyone who appreciates exceptional food, fine wine, and great company.

Catch of the day - Butterflied red mullet, tabbouleh, charred courgette and herb purée. Flavourful, seasonal, and utterly delicious.

On the specials board now. We’d recommend booking a table before it’s gone.

What a morning. 🌸

A few of our team headed to the Cathedral today to take in Chichester’s Festival of Flowers - and it did not disappoint.

From 3–6 June 2026, this much-loved biennial festival will see more than 50,000 blooms transform Chichester Cathedral in a spectacular four-day celebration of nature and creativity. If you haven’t been yet, there is still time, and it is absolutely worth it.

When you’re there, do take a moment to find Display 40: The Font - The Earth in Our Hands. A truly beautiful piece exploring our responsibility to care for the precious earth, and a wonderful reminder of what this corner of West Sussex does so well.

The display was arranged by the incredibly talented members of Felpham Flower Club - Sandra Dean, Sara Freeman, Sue Handson, Margaret Hatton, Wendy Hunt, Linda McNab, Ann Roberts, Sharon Rowe, Liz Stewart, Janet Turner, and Cathy Walley. We are so proud to have sponsored their work this year.

Tickets can be booked via

Congratulations to everyone involved. 🌿

If you’ve pulled apart our sourdough recently, whether it arrived alongside a bowl of soup or as part of a sharing board, you’ve tasted Roy’s sourdough. And if the compliments keep coming, it’s because the bread is genuinely exceptional.

Roy’s sourdough starter was born during lockdown, nurtured with patience, and has been going strong ever since. Every loaf is prepared with love and baked to perfection in a Dutch oven.

It’s the kind of thing that reminds you why the small details matter so much. We’re very lucky to have him.

Come and taste it for yourself - link in bio to book your table.

We are so proud to share that we have been named one of Britain’s 20 Very Best Pubs You Can Stay In by Country & Town House Magazine, and we couldn’t be more honoured.

Written by Fiona Duncan, the feature celebrates everything that makes this place so special to us - the handcrafted oak floors, the mid-20th century paintings, the cosy rooms with exposed beams and original artwork, the locals’ bar with its stone floors and welcoming fire and of course, the food. From Calcot Farm 40-day air-dried steaks to a Sunday roast with all the trimmings, every dish is crafted with care and rooted in the very best of what this corner of West Sussex has to offer.

This recognition belongs our wonderful team who make the Horse & Groom so special, as well as every single person who has walked through our doors, pulled up a chair, and made The Horse & Groom the place it is today. Thank you.

Rooms from ÂŁ147.50 per night. Link in bio to book your stay.
