The Old Cell Ale Bar Tim and Jane welcome you to The Old Cell micropub. Our aim is to serve decent beers in a friendly environment. Cosy in the winter (log fire), cool in the summer.

We have our own award-winning brewery (Chapel-en-le-Frith Craft Brew co.) and always have four ales on cask - our own beers, other local beers and a hand-picked selection - for example, Timothy Taylor and Wainwright. We keep a large range of bottled beers to drink in or take home. Guinness is permanently on tap and we have a range of ciders, both keg and bottles and kegged largers Karlsberg, warsteiner and San Miguel. Our extensive gin bar offers a range of dry and fruit gins and we always maintain a range of other spirits, including many dark rums, vodkas and whiskeys. If alcohol is not your thing, or you are driving, we stock a range of non-alcoholic beers, lagers, proseccos and even gin. We also have a hot drinks menu available with a selection of coffees, teas and hot chocolate. If you are peckish, we serve local pork pies, cheese boards and bar snacks - just ask! As well as real-ale enthusiasts, we welcome tourists, muddy boots and dogs, inside and outside! Follow the page to find out when we are having live music events - we love a bit of acoustic!

Gearing up for the whisky festival 12th and 13th September 🥃🥃🥃

We don’t do anything by halves at The Old Cell and have over 40 whiskies to try.

We will be doing a blind tasting on Saturday 12th at 5pm and Burke n Hoff will be playing from 7pm - they are superb - half Irish, half reggae and lots in between!

Tasting boards will be on offer all weekend.

Haggis, Camembert and rocket baps will be available throughout Saturday evening.

Come and get ready for a cosy autumn, whisky-filled snug in! 🥃 🍁 🔥

This is not a private function - you can still come in for a beer, wine, cider or anything else you fancy!

We had a fantastic day at our annual Old Cell bowling day yesterday. It was a true collaboration with the bowling club with around 20 bowlers and 20 non-bowling Old Cell Regulars. Players were paired up with non-players.

Barry was an absolute star 🤩 keeping everyone fed with bacon sandwiches and we need to say a massive thank you to Andrew Burt and Nick Hill for organising the event.

Well done to Burty and Gilly for raising the winners’ trophy 🏆

Between the pub players and the club members, we raised £360 for the bowling club. It’s such a special place - we are lucky to have it in the town. Chapel Park Bowling Club
