Happy New Years everyone! This year has been challenging to say the least, with yesterdays news to quote Boris ‘we are still within the tunnel and cannot yet glimpse sunlight’
However I am hopeful that next year will be easier than this one. We should be so proud of ourselves for making it through this year. We’re all much tougher than we realised!

We’re totally honoured and surprised at being chosen as the recipient for this years charity football match, it means so much that we’ve been thought of!

One of the things we’ve always been proud of as a community pub is being sponsors of Castle Donington Football Club. Nick still enjoys his involvement with the club (usually verbally from the sidelines these days!) But I’m sure we can all equally say how much we’re looking forward to normality resuming on Saturday afternoons. Thank you so much! ❤️❤️

Just to clarify, we have access to everything we usually sell behind the bar, as well as a wider variety of wines, spirits, soft drinks etc and these products from a local wholesale company behind The Gin and Rum festivals- this is a selection of their best sellers.

Hi everyone, I hope you are keeping well?

I sincerely hope everyone is keeping safe and staying mentally busy in these strange times.

I’ve been considering doing a one off Christmas car run to the wholesalers for Wine, Spirits etc, if there’s enough demand? I’d charge wholesale prices, plus a very small fee per household for delivery to your front door to cover fuel.

All our inside Tables are fully booked from 5pm tonight. We have been overwhelmed with people wishing to spend their ‘last night out’ with us. I hate to say this but please don’t come down tonight unless your willing to sit in the garden, we truly wish we could accommodate everyone better but we must still abide by Covid guidelines.

If we’re not seeing you today, we will look forward to welcoming you back when we are allowed to reopen.

Before last orders on Wednesday night come, I’d like to say a big thank you to our customers, our amazing customers who over the last few months have managed to keep to the ‘new normal’. The majority who have:

Kept 6 to a table without arguing,
Worn a mask without complaining,
Refrained from singing, dancing and shouting.
Sanitised their hand to the point they’re probably sore.
To those who have managed to social distance without hugging and kissing friends not seen for several months,
And waited patiently for drinks and table service.

You all doing your bit has lead to no outbreaks that we are aware of at all originating in our premises.

I’d just like to say thank you for your continued custom under these circumstances, without you all doing your bit and continuing to come in we probably wouldn’t currently still be open.

Hopefully we will see you all again in December.
