Today we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Colin back to The Eagle.

In 1944, Colin was one of the servicemen stationed in Cambridge who left his mark on our famous RAF graffiti ceiling. During his visit today, he shared that he was the man who drew “Ethel” – the iconic lady that still looks down on guests from our bar ceiling over 80 years later.

It’s not every day that we get to meet someone who helped create such an important part of The Eagle’s history. Thank you, Colin, for sharing your memories with us and helping keep the stories of The Eagle alive.
