Our Summer Menu Tasting Event has officially gone down a treat, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who joined us.

From our Heritage Tomato & Burrata Salad with fresh pesto to mouthwatering new dishes straight from the summer menu, it was fantastic to see so many of you enjoying your first taste of what’s new at The Shakespeare. ☀️🍅

Big, thank you! Our Tub2Pub campaign has done it again! For the sixth consecutive year, a record number of tubs have been collected thanks to the massive support from all our pub communities. We collected almost 295,000 plastic sweet and biscuit tubs in January and February, diverting them from landfill and raising funds for our charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support. This is a great example of community action at its best, with the pub and people at the heart of it. We’re so pleased that the proceeds of the sale of 33.74 tonnes of recycled plastic equates to a £10,122 donation for Macmillan 💚 Since its launch in 2021, Tub2Pub has collected 88,435kg of plastic – which is around 769,000 tubs – raising £45,369 to date for this incredible charity. Thank you for all your support and all your tubs!

If you’re looking for the perfect dish to share, meet the Shakespeare Sharing Platter.

A golden Cumberland scotch egg with a perfectly runny yolk. Crispy Japanese-style karaage chicken. Sweet and sticky honey-glazed chorizo. Roasted peppers, crunchy gherkins, warm ciabatta, rich pesto, and extra virgin olive oil with aged balsamic for dipping and sharing.

A little bit of everything. Best enjoyed with good company and something cold from the bar. ✨

And tonight? It’s Quiz Night! 🧠🏆

Our brand-new summer menu has officially arrived.

Think crispy duck, perfectly cooked and served on a bed of earthy lentils, with vibrant harissa slaw bringing just the right amount of warmth and spice. Finished with roasted seasonal vegetables and a rich cherry balsamic dressing that ties every flavour together beautifully.

Fresh, colourful, and packed with flavour — everything we love about summer on a plate. ✨
