Sat 28th November - The Dekkertones - Live at the Legstraps 🎺🎸🎶 Free entry

Yep, you’ve heard it right…

We’ve been trying to make this happen for years! And now we finally have!

Not only that, they will be playing as a full 8 piece with horn section, with nothing held back! Ska, Reggae, Rocksteady and 2 tone. Over 2 hours of legendary tunes spanning the whole era of ska. Just the same as you would see them at sold out venues across the country such as Esquires, club 85, MK11 and more!

But we finally have them coming here to our little pub!

Ok, we may have called in some favours…

Some of you may know Joe from the pub. This is his band. In the past we’ve been unable to make it work due to the band being from different parts of the country and the costs involved (despite Joe trying to make this happen for nearly 3 years) But we have now finally pulled it off.

We’re not quite sure how everyone’s going to fit yet, but we’ll worry about that another day 🤷🏽‍♂️

We know this is a way off, but we’re getting this out there early so that you don’t make any plans as this is going to be legendary!

We have a new Head Chef, a new kitchen team, and completely new menus, all built around care, the freshest ingredients, and a more thoughtful way of cooking.

We've listened to your feedback and we are certain that you are going to love what is coming...

We’re an independent country pub with heart, and everything we’re doing is about getting back to what matters - good food, good people, and a place you can feel truly at home.

We’re genuinely looking forward to sharing what is happening during these exciting times. But you'll have to wait just a little bit longer.

The Legstraps in Wootton, Bedfordshire is recruiting a full-time Head Chef.

We are an independent country pub looking for a talented, organised and commercially aware chef to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our kitchen and help us develop the next chapter of our food offering.

The role would suit either an established Head Chef or an experienced Sous Chef who understands the wider responsibilities involved in running a successful kitchen and feels ready to take that responsibility on.

The successful applicant will be closely involved in:

• Developing seasonal lunch, evening and Sunday menus
• Creating an excellent Sunday roast offering
• Costing dishes and working towards agreed food GP targets
• Recruiting, training and organising the kitchen team
• Managing rotas, ordering, stock and wastage
• Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and allergen standards
• Developing specials, themed evenings and food-led events

Our aim is to serve exciting yet approachable pub food: properly executed classics, fresh ideas, seasonal specials and occasional standout dishes.

You will have meaningful input into the kitchen structure and recruitment of the team, alongside support from an experienced and friendly management team. A business manager is also in place to assist with invoices, accounts and administrative paperwork, allowing you to focus primarily on the food and day-to-day kitchen operation.

LEAVING DRINKS TONIGHT!!

Tonight is the night where we bid farewell to Harry and Charlotte (who didn’t allow us to use a pic 😂)

We didn’t ask Harry’s permission, so enjoy his smiley little face while you can!!

Come and join us tonight for some drinks and a jolly good send off. Rumour has it that Harry may even be making a speech!

Everyone is welcome! This is not a private event and the pub is open as normal throughout!

BYE BYE TO HARRY & CHARLOTTE

Don’t forget to come and join us this Friday for a proper knees up and a send off to 2 Legstraps Legends.

Both Harry & Charlotte have been here for several years and have been hugely influential in the progression of the pub over the years.

They’ve adapted to many changes, different roles, menus, chefs, managers and everything in between. Always with the best interests of the pub at heart.

They will be hugely missed and we are grateful for their huge contributions over the years.

So please do pop down this Friday and join us in saying a fond farewell to these 2 wonderful humans!

We recommend getting here early before Harry loses the ability to talk and walk!

We look forward to seeing you!

A FOND FAREWELL…

Many of you will know our beloved Charlotte and Harry. They’ve been part of the furniture at the pub for many years and have seen many people come and go in their time with us…

But now it’s their turn to move on and we feel that it’s only right to give them one final send off to say thank you for being so integral to making the pub what it is today…

If you’re able to, please come down and join us for one final goodbye before they move on to new things in their lives.

We will be forever grateful to their massive contributions to The Legstraps and wish them all the best in their futures. We are sure that we will see them still from time to time, but now it will just be on the other side of the bar!

We’d also love to say a massive thanks to Jay our Head Chef who is also moving on to new things. Jay has been with us just over a year and has helped to bring the pub forwards with his incredible work ethic and skills in the culinary department.

As a result of all the big changes, we are completely rebuilding our food offering and recruiting a brand new kitchen team to build on what’s been started and take our food to the next level. The kitchen will be closed temporarily until a new team is fully in place, but the pub will be open as normal.

We will miss you all dearly and can’t thank you all enough for your amazing contributions to our little team!

Please do feel free to come and join us for what will be a fantastic farewell to some of our most popular ever members of staff.
