Back from a lovely restful holiday in sunny Croatia, a big thanks to our fantastic staff for manning the ship whilst we were gone.
Feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and ready to tackle the summer!

Work on the outside of the pub has taken a little longer than expected due to an excess of that pesky wet stuff falling from the sky.., but the scaffolding is coming down today, so on to prettifying and buffing up to make it look totally fabulous dahling.. all ready for the sunny weather to come! 🤞

Where did that go!!! TEN YEARS…TEN since we quit our jobs took a leap of faith and moved in to The Devonshire Arms and what a ride it’s been!
Beer festivals, bands, Burns night, Remembrance lunches, Ghost stories, Christmas carols.. the list goes on and will continue to go on, and on and on…..

We feel very lucky to have landed such a special little pub, but what really makes it is the people. Thanks to all you wonderful lot who have supported us over the last 10 years, and a special shout out for our hard working, supportive thoroughly fabulous staff. We’ve cherished every single one of you over the last 10 years..

“Today is gonna be the day, you get to try a different beer” 🎶🎤
Wonderwall is a “supersonic”beer, a delicious 4% beer brewed by Sunlit minds “some might say” ideal for a sunny afternoon, and a perfect pre/post rugby tipple.
We have Crown and heel here today from 5pm, with their delicious patties… you even get a “roll with it”… come and relax in our beautiful garden and never underestimate “the importance of being idle” for an hour or two. (We promise the beer is better than the puns!) 😁😁

Things are getting underway! Just look at these new signs.. aren’t they swish?!
Work is still going on outside, but the inside is just the same and we’re gearing up for a weekend that looks like it’s going to be scorchio!!!
Crown and heel are here on Friday and Saturday, and we have live music with Goats in trees 8.30 on Saturday, and May contain Nutz 4.30 on Sunday.
So come find us… just look for the fabulous signs!! 😁☀️🍺🍷

The weather maybe very disappointing right now, but we have our Open Mic night tonight at 8pm to cheer us all up, and this weekend is set to be a scorcher!
Crown and heel will be here Friday and Saturday once again, with their delicious burgers.. and we have live music Saturday and Sunday.

First up.. Saturday, we have Goats in Trees back at the Devvy once again.. hurrah!!
kicking off at 8.30pm.
On Sunday 4.30pm we have a Devvy debut from May contain Nutz, who hopefully (weather permitting) will be playing in the garden.

So why not pop along this bank holiday and visit

Work on our beautiful little pub commences on Monday! And whilst right now it doesn’t look very pretty, in 3 weeks time she’ll be all bright shiny and new! New colour schemes, new foliage the whole shebang!
Rest assured it’s business as normal inside, and any disruption in the garden will be kept to a bare minimum.
It’ll all be ready for the next bank holiday. Woohoo! 🥳🥂🍺

What a weekend! It all wrapped up yesterday with a fantastic performance from Tap the Barrel and another brilliant monthly quiz.
Thanks to all who came to our Bank Holiday beer festival bonanza, you drank us dry! 🤣👍
A huge thanks to Crown and heel for the delicious burgers (they’ll be back again soon) all the fabulous bands who played for us, and not forgetting our hardworking staff, you’re all marvellous!
No time to rest on our laurels, this week scaffolding will be going up as we’re having the outside of the pub repainted!! Woo!!
It won’t affect the running of the pub, and it should all be finished for the next bank holiday!
Bring on the Summer!!! ☀️🍺

Day 4 of the beer festival.. another fantastic day with no rain.. Hurrah!!!
A big thanks to The Black and Gold for a brilliant afternoon of live music, and a big thank you to Crown and heel for the moreish burgers, who had more that one? 🙋🏻‍♀️ we hope you enjoy a well earned day off today.

Today we do have some Beer and Cider left in the beer shed, and plenty to choose from on the bar.
Today’s musical offering is the fabulous Tap the Barrel who will be here at 4pm. And to finish the weekend off we have The Devvy quiz at 8pm!
So why not make the most of a Monday off and join us! 🍺🎸

Day 3 of the beer festival! Phew….2 days down and what a 2 days they’ve been!
A fantastic day yesterday with sun, beer, banter and burgers.. all topped off with a brilliant evening with Skimmington ride!

Today the weather doesn’t look quite as kind but hopefully the rain won’t make an appearance.
We’ve sold out of 4 beers… BUT there is still a few to choose from and plenty of cider too!
Crown and heel are back this afternoon for those who can’t get enough of those delicious burgers!
And today’s musical treat is the fabulous The Black and Gold, here from 4.30pm.
Right I’m off to order some sunshine! ☀️
