The Embankment has been a Peach Pub since 2008 since when it has become one of the premier spots in the heart of Bedford. The clue to our location is in the name! Bedford’s beautifully-landscaped Embankment has wonderful views out over the River Great Ouse, the boathouses and all the hustle and bustle of life on the river. The Embankment Hotel was built in 1891 and we renovated it to reflect its late-Victorian heyday, but with all the modern comforts & facilities of a great pub. The atmosphere is relaxed and hospitable. There is no stuffy hotel lobby or residents’ lounge, just a team of friendly faces to look after you.

Tom, we cannot thank you enough for everything you’ve poured into this pub over the last 3 years. You’ve been the heart and soul of the team, and we are all going to miss you dearly🥹

A big thanks to Rosehip Bespoke for hosting a sunflower pop-up on our terrace last night 😄

🌱 Each flower was picked the morning of the event, but here are some tips to keep them looking perfect:

1. change the water every 3 days 💦
2. a tsp. each of lemon + sugar will do the trick 🍋
3. keep them cool/avoid direct sunlight 🪭
4. trim the stems at an angle ✂️

We source our fish locally from our friends at ensuring every single bite is as fresh as it gets 🎣

Pair your fish with a glass of our incredible Viña Real barrel-fermented Rioja Blanco, imported straight from Spain 🇪🇸

The Aroma: Delicate, floral, and bursting with bright citrus notes.

The Finish: A beautifully well-rounded, creamy palate that perfectly complements our caper brown butter sauce.
