In April, EmIly Coates, a young girl from Askam was diagnosed Acute Lymphoblastoc Leukaemia.
During her lengthy hospital stay, Ronald McDonalsld house was an invaluble resource for our family. It allowed us to stay close by, having somewhere to sleep and shower, without worrying about paying for a hotel or driving the long distance home.
Whilst in hospital, EmIly started making bracelets. She decided she wanted to sell them for charity and chose Ronald McDonald House because without it, we don't know how we would have coped.
Emily possibly has a number of lengthy stays in Manchester ahead and we expect we will be needing support from Ronald McDonald House again in the near future.
We have set up the just giving page as I have been asked by a number of people how they can donate to Emily's fundraising efforts.
Ronald McDonald House UK helps families with children in hospital stay close by providing free accommodation just minutes from children’s hospital wards.
Houses provide more than accommodation. They offer stability and emotional support that allow parents and carers to be active partners in care.
Last night we had a karaoke night very successfully hosted by Andy.
We did two football cards and both the winners very kindly donated their winnings back to Emily's fundraising, raising £160. A big thank you for your generosity.
