Did you know The Rose & Crown has a connection to one of Britain’s most celebrated authors?
Dating back to 1810, our little country pub is believed to have been built by Edward Austen Knight, brother of the famous novelist Jane Austen, originally as an alehouse for workers on his estate.
More than two centuries later, nestled in the heart of Upper Farringdon, these walls are still welcoming locals, travellers and friends, just as they have for generations.
Today, we’re incredibly proud to be part of its next chapter, preserving the charm of a traditional English country pub while bringing our own passion for food and hospitality.
216 years of stories, laughter and memories. And plenty more to come.
