Ours has a story worth telling.
 
After 55 years of sharing stories with Toronto, we’re finally sharing the (mostly true) story of how it all began with Opening Night, our new cocktail menu celebrating the history, the people and the spirited moments that have made Library Bar what it is today. An illustrated journey back to where it all began in 1972.

Guest shifts are a favourite around here. And this time, we're making it a double.

On October 13, Kumiko from Chicago and Sip & Guzzle from New York join us for one night of Japanese-inspired cocktails and rare Japanese spirits.

Behind the bar, you’ll find Julia Momosé of Chicago’s Kumiko, the James Beard Award-winning bar. Kumiko ranks No. 11 on North America’s 50 Best Bars 2026, was named Best Bar in the Midwest and took home this year’s Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award.

Joining her is Tsunetaka Imada of New York’s Sip & Guzzle, currently No. 1 on North America’s 50 Best Bars 2026 and No. 14 on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2026.

And it doesn’t stop there. We’ll also mark the Ontario launch of Iichiko, one of Japan’s renowned shochu producers and a longtime favourite of our team.

Atwater Cocktail Club was one of the first to join us for a guest shift at Library Bar, making their return to Toronto a true full-circle moment.

For one night only, Kate Boushel brought Montreal's cocktail scene to Toronto, shaking up an exclusive menu of inventive cocktails and bringing plenty of energy along with her. From unexpected flavour combinations to a cocktail topped with ice cream, the evening was anything but ordinary.
