Pan seared Barramundi on a Puttanesca Papparedelle (trying saying that 5 times quickly - free schooner to the first who can!). Think Tomato, olives, garlic, olive oil and lemon. Until sold out!

Few changes coming to our kitchen in the coming weeks including some very tasty specials and options for your meals. On Monday & Wednesday nights we won't be running our normal pub bistro menu through winter. Instead you can expect a range of tasty home cooked curries, stews and other winter warmers. Tonight it's a slow cooked Beef Madras served with rice, cucumber and mint raita and naan. Come settle in beside our crackling fire for a warming winter meal and a glass of red. Mondays are meant to be easy :)

Who's ready for some FREE Circus fun at Cracker Night this weekend with Fyrestorm? From 2:30-6:30pm this Saturday in the back carpark of the Tav, your little ones can learn plate spinning, diabolo, juggling, silk poi, hula hoops, and ribbons! Word is, Fyrestorm are also bringing some free bubble fun too.

Snack on a plate of the absolute best Nachos you've ever eaten from Mexican Cantina

Grab a scoop gelato from Cherry Hwy Gelato

Get a face paint or try your luck on the laughing clowns with Victoria (warning....Victoria will also have fairy floss...)

From there you can wander through the beer garden filled with fire pits and live tunes and down to our grassed area where you'll find out second kids fun zone. Think windjammer ride, jumping castle and glow sticks!

There's a lot more than Crackers happening this Saturday of the long weekend at Wollombi Tavern. From 2pm join us for plenty of fun. From back to back EPIC live music, to a free kids circus playspace, face painting, laughing clowns & fairy floss, jumping castle, windjammer ride, Mexican food truck, Gelato truck, outdoor bar, kids amusement, firepits, bonfire and of course.... the cracker show. (And....portaloos).

This is a free event. As a small business we have put a tonne into putting on a great event for families. A lot of our entertainment is free (music, circus, crackers). Some of the offerings are paid (rides, face painting, food, drink). We encourage you to bring a chair, bring a rug, and bring your good vibes. But we ask only two things
1- leave your dogs at home unless you are sure they are fine with fireworks
2 - leave your food and drink at home. Come and support some small family businesses that are putting on a sensational night for you! We have a wonderful crew of locals who will be helping us police the BYO situation and we will be taking it seriously. We want to grow this event sustainably so have put a lot in place this year to ensure there aren't wait times and lines. It means a bigger investment and relying on you to support us back by purchasing from us and our vendors. We want to keep putting these great nights on for you.

It’s the lead up to our biggest night of the year and you know what that means fellas- return those schooner glasses to the bar. There’s no judgement. No shame. We’ve all been there. BUT there will be a couple of free schooners for the man who returns the most. Don’t let your woman beat you to it blokes as she’ll be cashing in a cocktail if she claims the highest glass return. Winner announced Thursday night.

We recognise that our Cracker Night has grown and grown and grown in the last few years. We don't want you to attend an event at our pub that's reached saturation point. It's just not...fun. We want you to be able to access toilets and food and fun with absolute ease. Last year, we were gobsmacked by the turnout. It was the biggest night in our tiny historic pub's history by a landslide. And with that, we recognised we needed to rethink how we approached this event, and build it in a sustainable way so it's enjoyable for everyone (our staff included!). So this year, we have made some big changes.

We are bringing in the BEST of the festival food - Mexican Cantina. They're dear friends of ours, and women who know how to feed big crowds. Rumour is, they push out a meal every 15 seconds. So, along with our pub bistro which we are modifying to make it even faster and easier for Cracker Night, you'll be able to get yourself some delicious, fresh and Mexican food at Cracker Night 2026. They are renowned for their phenomenal food and we know you will LOVE what they do. They'll be parked up in our new little entertainment hub in our back carpark. More on that soon... for now, start dreaming of your next burrito.
