Congratulations Rod Fuller!! Well deserved award received at last night's Victorian Sailing awards!!

2026 Victorian Innovation Award!

Congratulations Rod Fuller, 2026 Innovation Award recipient.

Rod has shown exceptional leadership by introducing one of the first climate change adaptation initiatives developed specifically for community sailing clubs in Australia, leading a Climate Change Risk Assessment Framework at Hobsons Bay Yacht Club to embed climate resilience into the Club's long-term governance and planning. Recognising the challenge extends beyond one club, he organised a specialist training workshop delivered by environmental consultants Senversa, bringing together leaders from Port Phillip's keelboat clubs to build shared understanding of climate risk and adaptation. His work has already driven a comprehensive assessment covering more than 3,800 club assets at HBYC, producing a Climate Change Risk Register to guide future infrastructure planning.

Six days of racing at Magnetic Island done! About 25-30 HBYC members and family up here, representing the club, sailing on Noelene III, Private Equity, Concerto and All or Nothing.

Lots of sun, sailing and fun! It's been a fantastic week!

HBYC 1st and 2nd, in Division 2 at Sail Mordi 😎 Light wind regatta!! Theresa and Michael won convincingly but Miles and Alex were really pleased with how they sailed and made them work for it! 😉 A big WELL DONE from all of us!!
