To all Arcade + Beer + Board Games fans in VIC please check out the amazing Chaos Bar which is having its grand opening this Friday!

Chaos Bar is the brain child of 1989 manager and "Wonderboy" Steven kerr. We are super excited to see his dream become a reality!!

CHAOS BARS OFFICIAL OPENING!

We've been low-key open for the last couple of weeks, but THIS Friday, November 29th, we're celebrating our OFFICIAL OPENING!

Not only do we have arcade games, console games, and board games to keep you entertained, but we're also offering a selection of beers on tap and tinnies in the fridge, plus signature and classic cocktails, wines and spirits to keep the drinks flowing.

Join us this Friday 29/11/24 from 4pm to 11:30pm at 12-14 Union St, Geelong, for an awesome night of retro fun!

!! '89 CLOSING PERMANENTLY !!

Hey folks,

We are very sorry for this very sudden news but '89 is officially shutting up shop after this weekend.

We will be open Friday 5th and Saturday 6th January 2024 for one last hurrah before permanently closing the doors.

What does this mean for the arcade bar? Well, watch this space... something new bar and arcade related will be opening in our old space in February 2024.

It is impossible to fully convey in a facebook post the huge amount of gratitude (and love) we have for all who were involved in the creation, evolution, operation, patronisation, love and care that went into '89.

It's been an amazing ride! Starting something from scratch, bringing something new to Sydney. It had its ups and downs... but most of all it had its UPs!

Thank you everyone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone for their support over the last 7 and a half years. What an amazing time we have had.

You've made this tubby nerd proud. Thank you!

Tonight is our FREE PLAY Arcade party!

Join us for the last night '89 will be open in 2023 as we celebrate the year by putting all the Arcades onto FREE PLAY for the entire night.

2023 has been another amazing year for '89. We've made so many new friends and continue to be humbled and amazed with the love and enthusiasm from people who walk through the door for the first time. You all arrive as strangers but leave as friends.

Thank you for an amazing year! Lets play games together tonight! :-)
