Did you know the Gungellan Hotel was originally known as the Railway Hotel, with a history dating all the way back to 1867?
Established during Freeling’s early railway days, the hotel quickly became a popular meeting place for railway workers, farmers, travellers and locals.
Over the years, the pub has seen plenty of changes, survived fires and storms, and welcomed generations of locals through its doors.
In the early 2000s, the Railway Hotel found a new claim to fame when it became the Gungellan Hotel in the iconic Australian television series McLeod's Daughters.
Nearly 160 years later, the hotel remains an important part of Freeling’s history and community.
